2010 AICUM Annual Meeting
AICUM's Annual Meeting took place on May 4 at Boston University's Photonics Center, where more than 100 members representing 50 institutions gathered. Featured speakers were State Representative Alice Peisch (D-Wellesley) and State Senator Ben Downing (D-Pittsfield). |
Student Financial Aid Day
About 150 students and financial aid advocates representing 28 independent colleges and universities across Massachusetts came together at the State House to ask legislators to support funding for need-based financial aid. The day began with greetings from Speaker of the House Robert DeLeo; Co-chair of the Joint Committee on Higher Education Ben Downing, and Representative Marie St. Fleur. Students then fanned out across the State House, meeting with legislators and aides, dropping off thank you cards and home baked cookies courtesy of the Culinary Arts students at Newbury College. |

2009 AICUM Annual Dinner
AICUM honored U.S. Rep. Richard E. Neal at its annual dinner and awards ceremony, held December 7, 2009, at the Seaport Hotel in Boston. ACCESS was also honored at the event, which drew approximately 400 attendees.

More than 100 students from AICUM colleges and universities gathered at the Massachusetts State House on February 26, 2009, to thank legislators for their support of financial aid -- and to remind them of the continuing need for support in these trying times. |
